Xirat is a Yezidi word meaning "a united effort for the sake of high ideas".

Xirat is the only digital platform operating in Armenia that covers the life of national minorities, particularly Yezidis, and their unique culture, traditions, religion, art, and history. There are four main areas of coverage and production: news, human rights, podcasts, and culture.

This media outlet aims to give Yezidis, the largest minority in Armenia (around 40,000 people), a space to discuss their issues and to raise awareness about the Yezidi minority within the national majority.

The media outlet publishes information in Ezdiki, the language of Armenia's Yezidi (Ezdi) population.

Xirat produces videos and programmes to raise awareness of human rights issues, especially about the segments of international law concerning minorities in the country.
