The Manifold is a non-profit investigative organisation based in Athens. It has a seven-member journalism team. Founded as a collective in 2018 and as a non-profit civil partnership in 2020, it pursues long-term, in-depth investigative and explanatory journalistic projects in the public interest.

It publishes long-form stories in several media outlets in Greece and other countries. It has also created the Manifold Files, a website that hosts a series of "Files": publications that function both as readable archives and investigative monitors.

Each "File" is a dedicated micro-site within the Manifold Files platform, which offers a way to publish the entire material of a single-issue journalistic investigation, including stories, interviews, case studies, and information on the people and institutions that drive events and primary source documents.

This unique format aims to create a resource for each investigation, allowing the interested reader to delve deep into the subject, its history, context, and evolution. As The Manifold's journalists say: "When a 'File' is opened, it never closes," meaning that files are monitored and updated when there are significant developments.

The Manifold Files website launched with an investigation into the failures of the child protection system in Greece. In 2022, in collaboration with Solomon, The Manifold published a second "File" on police brutality and impunity in Greece.
