Reporteri.net is an online newspaper founded in 2019 and based in Pristina. It is managed by journalists Bekim Kabashi and Mentor Gjergjaj. Its mission is to offer the Albanian-speaking audience a platform for unbiased information.
Reporteri.net covers various topics, including politics, the economy, health, sport, and entertainment. It emphasises reporting on crime and corruption affairs, and according to chief executive officer Bekim Kabashi, it also fact-checks the statements and decisions of government leaders.
With its information, Reporteri.net targets the Albanian-speaking audience in Kosovo and four other Western Balkans countries, namely Serbia, North Macedonia, Montenegro, and Albania. On average, it has 10 journalists working on producing the information.
Reporteri.net has a solid audience on social media platforms, with approximately 173,000 followers on Facebook.
Like other media outlets in Kosovo, during 2020, 2021, and the first part of 2022, it experienced a decrease in revenues. The media outlet was hit the hardest when the government of Kosovo repeatedly imposed isolation measures during the Covid-19 crisis. These actions, which in some cases remained in force for up to three months, caused over 3,000 businesses to close (according to the Agency for Business Registration in the Ministry of Trade and Industry of Kosovo), and pushed companies not to get involved in advertising, directly decreasing media outlets' revenues.
Despite this, the team is developing a new strategy to increase revenues. According to Kabashi, this includes launching new digital products and expanding video production to attract more advertisers.
