O médiách is a specialised media outlet publishing news from the Slovak and international media industries, based on insider knowledge.

It was founded by journalist Miroslava Kernová, who is still its director and main author. She had previously covered the media industry in Slovakia for around 20 years, writing for established newspapers as well as for her own blog. She later became independent with the O médiách website. Kernová has a network of contacts within the Slovak media industry, and O médiách is the most respected source of information about Slovak journalists and the media industry.

Since the Slovak media market is not large, she runs this project more or less on her own – as a director, and often as the only content creator. At times, the outlet is critical towards politicians attacking the media, but also towards mistakes made by journalists or managers in the Slovak media market.
