LIGA.net is a native digital news outlet founded in 1996 under the domain liga.net (changed to LIGA.net in 2000), with the news platform launched in 1997.

The media outlet aims to explain "complex topics in simple words" to an audience interested in business and socio-political information. Its slogan is: "We have been talking about important things since 1997."

Apart from the news and live coverage of the events, LIGA.net publishes analyses, interviews with influential people in various fields, photo reportage of events, announcements, press releases, and a selection of the most striking foreign news. The news feeds are divided into topics: politics, economy, world, incidents, Kyiv, sports, society, health, culture, and chronicles. Other sections include business, finance, tech, opinion, and dossier.

The editorial board of LIGA.net is supported by the International Renaissance Foundation. Other donors include USAID for projects on media literacy (2019) and economic transformation (2020), culminating in the launch of LIGA.Money.

The Bondarenko family founded the company, which is part of Ligamediа - an independent media holding in Ukraine - and the LIGA Group of Companies. It combines a complex of information, communication, and advertising projects.

LIGA.net defines its vision as providing truthful information and explaining important events so Ukrainians can make informed decisions. Its values include development, effectiveness, reputation, honesty, truthfulness, success, and innovation.

Since the beginning of the war and the introduction of the military curfew, LIGA.net has faced new challenges in delivering news due to the changing rules and regulating framework. Reporting news, especially photos and locations, falls under potentially sensitive and classified information. The editorial team navigates these new rules from the basements and bunkers in Ukraine or abroad, keeping its readers informed.
