Kosovo 2.0 was founded in 2010, aiming to distance itself from the sensationalism of important issues. The media outlet covers different topics, including education, the environment, the economy, politics, arts, culture, and human rights, and publishes information in Albanian, English, Bosnian, Croatian, and Serbian.

The media organisation is committed to explanatory, contextual, and narrative journalism, where storytelling is a tool for documenting the world around us and contributing to its reimagining.

As Kosovo's first blogging platform, Kosovo 2.0 expanded and established itself as a critical and credible journalistic voice in the country and beyond.

In addition to the online platform, Kosovo 2.0 has been publishing a printed magazine since 2011. Each magazine - 11 issues published as of 2022 - focuses on a relevant topic, such as migration, corruption, or the environment.

The media outlet also organises a range of public events and non-formal education initiatives, which the team considers fundamental to its broader journalistic mission. "We have made it our mission to create powerful, uncompromising journalism that listens to people's experiences, explains complex realities, provides context, and provokes conversation," the organisation explains in its mission statement.

Kosovo 2.0 sustains itself mainly with funds from foreign organisations, but generates part of its revenue from the sale of its printed magazine.
