JÁDU is the online magazine of Goethe-Institut, established in 2011 as a Czech/German media outlet. Later on, the Slovak writers also joined the team. The magazine's aim is to promote dialogue between the nations, learn about their neighbours, and see common issues from a new perspective.

The newsroom is based in Prague and cooperates with Czech, Slovak, and German writers and journalists. The articles are translated from Czech/ Slovak to German, and from German to Czech/Slovak. There is no translation from Czech to Slovak or Slovak to Czech because the two countries understand each other due to their shared history.

"We believe in the potential of constructive journalism. When we write about a problem, we also want to ask what the solution could be," editor-in-chief Patrick Hamouz said.

In 2022, a Ukrainian language version of JÁDU was established.

JÁDU is funded through the Goethe-Institut and the German Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

In 2022, Hamouz was shortlisted for the German-Czech Journalist Award organised by German-Czech Fund for the Future. In May 2023, JÁDU won the prize for the best commentary of the year 2022 in the Czech and Slovak editions of the Journalist Awards of the Open Society Fund.
