Representatives of the local organised crime assaulted Tonchev following the publication of an investigation on corruption. The incident affected his family's privacy and put the whole team and their families at risk. The journalist informed the International Press Institute and Council of Europe about the case, which was part of international reports on the media-freedom in Bulgaria.The case is investigated by the Police Authorities in Pomorie.
