Guiti News is a non-profit media organisation, created after reflection on the way in which subjects linked to migration are treated by other media.

This media organisation is the result of a convergence between a media project and a social project; the first defending more accurate and rational information, away from stereotypes and misconceptions about migration, and the second, allowing journalists in exile to continue to do their work in France.

The outlet’s goal is for migration to integrate the major contemporary subjects of our time, for it to exist a little less as a “political issue”, a “problem” and a “challenge”, and a little more as human stories that simply need to be told.

Guiti News considers migration issues to be intersectional, so talking about migration also means talking about health, climate, security, women, racism, homophobia and so on.

The outlet’s originality is that it offers reports made by teams that pair a French journalist with an exiled colleague, thus offering a double perspective on the subjects treated

It also produces podcasts, and conducts media and information education activities (raising awareness of the production of information, preventing fake news, etc), as well as educational workshops on topics related to exile. In addition, it carries out advocacy activities with other media interested in migration issues, forming a European network.

“Guiti” refers to the world, the universe — in Persian, the literal translation is “the world and its surroundings”.
