Detector Media

https://detector.media/

The publication of NGO Detector Media covers media-related events and phenomena and the context necessary for their analysis and understanding. It aims to improve the quality of Ukrainian media, increase Ukrainian society's media literacy, and counter disinformation and propaganda. The editorial board also publishes materials on topics not directly related to media if it considers them relevant for the audience.

Detector Media protects speech and editorial freedom and defends the rights of journalists. At the same time, in the context of the armed conflict, the occupation of part of the territory, and the constant information war waged by Russia against Ukraine, the organisation considers it impossible to justify by freedom of speech any actions aimed at supporting the aggressor or destroying Ukrainian statehood. Standing for the freedom of the press, they spread the call to their colleagues for responsibility and warn against conscious or unconscious participation in manipulations that play into the hands of the aggressor.

Detector Media publishes news, articles, and essays that monitor media, the media market, communities, and the infospace and produces special projects such as analyses of social networks, fact-checks, and detectors of manipulations.

The organisation is funded through grants and donations.
