DEINE KORRESPONDENTIN publishes under the motto "Get to know inspiring women from across the globe." This applies both to the outlet’s female-only team of authors and the stories they tell. The publication focuses on untold narratives—particularly those of women in underreported regions.
The audience is invited to contribute thematic input and take part in the research process. Before COVID-19, DEINE KORRESPONDENTIN regularly hosted fireside chats and community events in Berlin. Since the pandemic, the network of journalists has experimented with new formats, including WhatsApp chats, live talks on Instagram, a virtual city tour of Amsterdam, and speed-networking sessions in collaboration with other media organizations.
The idea is to provide members not only with access to stories but also with direct interaction with the authors. Supporting members receive early access to articles, can participate in regular online meetings, and receive a physical book showcasing women who are changing the world. In 2021, DEINE KORRESPONDENTIN organized its first physical exhibition, displaying more than 20 stories on large banners across Hilden, Wülfrath, and Trier.
Initially funded through a crowdfunding campaign that raised €6,555, the media outlet now sustains itself primarily through memberships and private donations. Around 150 members—one-third of them male—currently support DEINE KORRESPONDENTIN with a combined total of €1,000 per month. Additionally, the publication collaborates with media outlets such as Frankfurter Rundschau and neues deutschland, which pay to republish its articles.
Founder and editor-in-chief Pauline Tillmann has received multiple accolades for her work. In 2018, she was recognized as a Cultural and Creative Pilot by the German government and was named Entrepreneur of the Year by Medium Magazin.
