The media outlet was founded in 2021 and is currently focused on investigating corruption in Northwestern Russia, as well as conducting cross-border investigations related to Russia.
The core mission of Chronicles.Media is to inform residents of Northwestern Russia about corruption and abuses of power. Over the past two years, the outlet has also increasingly concentrated on cross-border investigations into sanctions evasion and Russian businessmen who continue to trade with European countries.
Since its founding, the outlet’s articles have been nominated 15 times for the prestigious Russian journalism award Redkollegia. Its investigations have also received support from respected European initiatives such as CIJI and Journalismfund.
