Borsod24.hu offers a credible alternative to government-influenced local newspapers and media. The publisher of Borsod24.hu is The Equality and Sustainability Association, established in 2021 in the city of Miskolc. Its primary goal is to explore and present local and global eco-political and social issues, delivering news, events, lectures, and discussions to the people of Northern Hungary through various media channels.

Borsod24.hu investigates and highlights the challenges faced by disadvantaged groups, including those with low education levels, the unemployed, the elderly, women, individuals with social integration difficulties, people with disabilities, Roma communities, and sexual minorities. Borsod24.hu also works toward proposing solutions to these issues.

The editorial team currently comprises six members, supported by external contributors and an administrator. While primarily producing written content, the team frequently creates videos as well.

Over the past two years, Google Analytics data shows that Borsod24 has achieved over 10 million page views from 3.5 million users. Its social media audience is steadily growing, with 31,000 followers and 9,000 group members.

The association’s resources come from grants, advertising revenue leveraging Borsod24's popularity, and donations. Its network of connections, built through journalistic efforts in the region, is also a significant asset.

Inspired by Borsod24's success, the association launched the Szol24 portal for Jász-Nagykun-Szolnok County in 2021, which has rapidly grown into a major regional news source. Its newest project, Szabolcs24, is currently in its early stages but aims to become another vital platform in the region.
